Saluda defeated Barnwell for the South Carolina AA High School Championship on Friday
night at Benedict College in Columbia.

The Tigers jumped out to a 20-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back and claimed
a 39-14 victory.

Saluda was led by quarterback Noah Bell. Bell carried the ball 23 times for 98 yards and a
touchdown. He completed 25 of 29 passes for 372 yards and 4 touchdowns as the Tiger
quarterback accounted for 470 of the 523 yards totaled up by the Tigers.

The Tigers won their third state championship and the first since Saluda won back to back
championships in 1962 and 1963.

Green Sea Floyds 48  
Ridge Spring-Monetta 12
The Green Sea Floyds Trojans topped the Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans to win the South
Carolina Class A state championship game played at Benedict College in Columbia.

The GSF Trojans won their second straight state title with a 48-12 victory over Ridge
Spring-Monetta.

The GSF Trojans dominated the game in the first half scoring 21 unanswered points before the
break. In the second half Green Sea Floyds added 27 points while only giving up a pair of RS
Monetta touchdowns to give the GSFTrojans 1 36 point win.

GSF's Jaquan Dixon scored 3 touchdowns on runs of 27, 7 and 2 yards while gaining 132 yards
on 18 rushing attempts.

The Trojans defense tallied 7 sachs and picked off three RS Monetta's passes.

Dorman 31
Dutch Fork became one of only a handful of teams to win four straight state football
championships. The Silver Foxes topped Dorman 34-31 in overtime.

In the overtime period Dorman got to the four-yard line, but chose to kick a field goal instead
of going for the score on fourth down.

The field goal gave the Cavs a 3-point lead, but a Ty Olenchuk to Jalin Hyatt 7-yard
touchdown pass gave the Silver Foxes the victory.

Dutch Fork senior quarterback Olenchuk completed 4-td passes to lead his team to the  
championship.

Chapman 44  -  Dillon  14
The Chapman Panthers completed an undefeated season with a 44-14 rout of Dillon to win the SC
High School AAA championship at Williams Brice Stadium in Columbia.

The Panthers scored on the second play of the game when Gabe Watson returned a Dillon fumble
15 yards for a touchdown.

Shrine Bowl quarterback Mikele Colasurdo scored the second Panther touchdown on their next
possessions with a 2-yard run.

Chapman built a 27-7 lead by halftime and never were pressured by the Wildcats in the second
half.

The victory by Chapman was the second in three state championship meetings with Dillon.

Myrtle Beach 23
Wren won the South Carolina AAAA championship with a 35 -23 victory over Myrtle Beach at
Williams Brice Stadium.

The Hurricanes scored 21 first quarter points to take control of the game early.

Myrtle Beach closed within 5 points in the third quarter on a 83 yard touchdown run by Xavion
Knox, but Wren countered with a 6 play 80 yard drive ending with a 9 yard touchdown run by
Logan Simmons to wrap up the win.

The Hurricanes quarterback Joe Owens threw for over 300 yards and 4 touchdowns in the winning
effort.
